Well, I felt like an outstanding citizen this weekend. Attending the GOP primary issues rally for Georgia. Yep, was even up on stage with my baby...yeah I'm bragging. Back to the point, it felt good to walk around and speak with the different political candidates who are running in the primary (btw go vote July 18).
Before this rally, I attended my local community meeting to listen to the candidates running in the primary for my area (all democrats so don't think I don't listen to one side).
It was refreshing to be able to see these political officials so easily accessible to the public. The GOP rally was only 10 dollars (provides GOOD bbq too) and the community meeting was free. My tangent is just letting people know that if you complain about what is going on, go talk to the candidates find out what it is they stand for. Ask specific questions, i.e.: "what is your stance on school vouchers?"
Bryan and I are not having kids, but this is a big issue for us as homeowners. If the school fails, so does the neighborhood. Vote your pocketbook but you have a choice on who gets placed on the final ballot. So when you get to the vote box in November it's your fault if there are two EVILS to choose from...you could have decided which evils to place there.

Nice!
Yep. I completely agree! I'll be voting in my local primaries on July 18!
This time, I'm voting against the "big business" Republican incumbants and for candidates who want to cut government spending and reduce the size of the Federal government (i.e. John Konop).
I'm still debating on whom I will run for in my area. Down to two:
But! I met Catherine Davis at the Primary Issues bbq, and she is running against Cynthia McKinney. Too bad I am no longer in that district, but everyone who is tired of Cynthia McKinney should donate to Catherine Davis, she makes some good points and is passtionate about this upcoming election.
..
Ok it's either Paul Bolster, b/c he's experienced and I can agree with some of the issues.
Or it's Elana Kaplan, except she's young and I fear she is only running to add something else to her resume. Which being young and ambitious is good, again I only agree on some of the issues.
barhhh.
