Fired a gun this weekend

So I shot my first gun yesterday. Honestly, it was a delightful but scary feeling. The first time I went I cried and couldn't even touch the gun. It didn't help that all the firing lanes were filled and just blasting away. So this time it was only us and I have been touching the gun without the magazines in order to get used to it as a piece of machinery.

I stated we would not have a gun in the house unless all residents of said house are trained. Well, considering that one resident just came home from Iraq and the other was me...I need the training.

Since it was my first time, I took my time and I could hear every breath with my protective headphones. It was surreal. I did not concentrate on aim, but Bryan did point out the ones I got in the circle of the target. (No, no center shots)

So with more time at the range I think I will be more comfortable with the gun, but the healthy fear/nervous of guns will not pass, b/c as soon as that passes people become careless and that's the last you need to do with a piece of machinery such as a gun.

Soon we'll be getting drunk and shooting guns in the air while going:

"A-lalalalalalalala!"

It'll be a blast.

Interesting. What kind of guns did you shoot?

Last year I shot a gun for the first time. Here is my blog about it:
My first time using firearms.
