Power struggle

Big news comes today. There could be a shift in power. Senator Johnson fell ill yesterday and after speaking with reporters he stuttered, ended the interview, and went to the hospital for surgery. Later today there will be a release to let the public know how Johnson is doing, and what happened.

Now the question falls, is this shift in a shifty way good? Or could this be bad? If the Governor decides to go with a Republican, will this be seen as a natural or will the Democrats scream bloody murder that the Republicans "stole" another election.

Before we investigate further on the power shift, let's take a look at Zel Miller coming into office....remember he was appointed by a Democrat Governor after the Republican Senator fell ill....

OK back to the power shift I spoke of earlier. If a Republican is appointed to replace Johnson, then the Senate would be 50/50 with Cheney as the deciding vote. With Cheney being a Republican, this places the Senate into the power of Republican. I'm torn, I would like to see Republicans back in office, but I'd like them to win office. Also it would be a bitch trying to listen to Democrats after such an appointment would occur.

First, let's give our best to Johnson for a speedy recover back to his spot in the Senate.

In all fairness of your Zell comment, let's also remember that Zell is a Republican in Democrat's clothing, so it was kinda like appointing a Republican anyway. I don't know any true Dems that really like him...
