I celebrated by taking my little brother to go see Alvin and the Chipmunks. Really cute movie, and they did a good job updating and giving those darn Chipmunks a fresh look.
Then we headed over to the King Center. There were tons of people! No, I didn't get a chance to see Bill Clinton or Huckabee. I know they were there though! Tons of folks walking around in crazy directions. There wasn't much focus on the Kings' graves though. More focus was on the parade and people speaking on a stage outside the Ebenezer Church. Apparently there is also a Black National Anthem. It was cute watching this 8 year old (she sounded about 8) sing, she messed up and then started all over again. At the very end of the second try she yelled "Again!" and then sang it all over again with no (i guess) mistakes.
The line was super long to visit Martin Luther King Jr.’s home, but since I live here...my little brother and I will make another trip when there are not so many people. Besides, honestly, I was not too impressed with the whole set up. Instead of being able to walk across the street to the different arenas, you had to walk up the street cut over one street and walk back down the street because of all the barriers.
