I just got back from the firing range. I think I've been going there too often, b/c the guys behind the counter recognized me. Don't know if this is a good thing or bad...
I did a good job with shooting .357 magnum rounds. Ruger makes a good revolver, light weight it wasn't desultory either. I'm still closing my eyes at the last minute on some shots...causing me to be off slightly. Since moving from the 38 special to only .357's my accuracy has dropped to 78%. Of course this is straight score too, one round was 17, BUT I had three shots go in the same spot on the target...so target score down but it's kind of harder to calculate accuracy.
I also tried a different target, the five circles in different spots. Dead center I was 83%, down to the bottom I dropped 50% then up to the right I went even lower to 10%. argh.... Guess its more target practice.
I did, however, go shooting wearing a mini skirt, gray tights, and boots. It was kind of empowering shooting a gun wearing a skirt J

The Magnum shells can make a difference. When I fired a .44 Mag, the kick was just too much - bleedin' thing is a hand cannon, not a pistol.
If I'm going for power, I'll take a rifle - better accuracy. I still remember going 5 for 5 shots on a target the size of a dinner plate at 100 yards with an AK-47.
