There is nothing better than sitting on your front porch listening to the waves and feeling the breeze. It gives you nothing more than a medium to think about life. The paths we have taken, the paths we are heading, the path that lead straight to me.
I don't know who is going to miss this canvas more: Mollie the dog or me.
I wish I had a video camera to record how fast the clouds are moving over my porch. Actually, I'm glad I don't because then I would wind up making weird videos from Donnie Darko. Creepy movie.
Have you ever flipped open your laptop thinking you are going to search for something productive and profound on the internet, or you are going to start (restart) typing the next great novel? yeah, me too. I keep trying to think of things to write, but I realize that the greats have been written. I start formulating a topic and start profoundness characters only to realize that it is the same plot....done a million times before.
My students worked on writing Children's books. They did a wonderful job, despite the fact that I'm procrastinating grading them. Some of the stories, I'm like....how did I not think of that! They keep asking me if I'm going to publish my Children's Book. I should. It is written, illustrated, bound, not grammar proofed, but that is what copy editors are for. Hell, if 6th graders like it, shouldn't that already be a sign? If anything, I can tell a publisher that it has already been through a focus group :)
