I will probably get called two weeks after schools starts, which means I'll be three weeks behind. "But, school has only been in session for two weeks?" well, that means I'll have to make up two weeks and hurriedly get a unit plan ready in one night...that's another week lost by playing catch up.
I should probably go ahead and create a syllabus and lesson plans now for both SS and Lang. Arts...just in case.
There is an group that helps teachers look for positions in private schools. Kind of like a headhunter. You have to "apply" like you are applying for a job before this group can help you. I've "applied" twice and have been denied twice through the initial review of my qualifications. I finally got fed up with being denied, so I emailed them back (even though there is an appeals process to follow...which I am following) asking... "so, if I have a Masters and pending teaching certificates, what qualifications are you looking for to make a "good" candidate in which you will help look for a job?"
I really should have added how one private school thought my resume was impressive and wish they had a spot open for me to come teach AND they want me to reapply next year just in case an opening occurs. so HA!
In other news: well, there really isn't other news, my life is job searching at the moment.
