It's America

I never was a big basketball fan. Too many fouls, on purpose fouls. People explained the stratagey behind fouling, but it doesn't make sense to me. I'm huge into soccer, though.
Anyway, Last night with a group of friends I went to go see the Hawks play the Timberwolves. We are the fourth? I think fourth worst team. wohoo. So needless to say it was more than exciting to watch the game b/c it was we would get ahead, then they would get ahead. Right there in the last 2 seconds Childress took the ball down the court and shot the winning basket as soon as the buzzer rang. It was a movie moment, no not really b/c my head still cloudy with hungoverness I didn't fully reconize what was happening until the buzzer rang.
It was nice though, not liking basketball, I like sports I like the idea behind sports, I like having sports in our schools, kids having access to sports...What I don't like is paying professional sportsteams a buttload of money. It gives false hope to kids who have nothing more than sports. Also those who bust their ass working to make bills to go to a game and see you are older than the whole team and they make money you will never be able to reach in a lifetime. Wohoo
Anyway on another patriotic note: take it how you want, but this is an interesting story I caught on the radio yesterday. wow is my response.

Of course sports are fun! And everything is more fun when you know more about it... remember what we learned on Schoolhouse Rock: Knowledge is power!

oh i know when you know the rules of a game you can tell what's happening without constantly asking...uh what happened? maybe I'll get better if i don't go to games hungover and trying to concentrate while hundreds of thunderbats are beating around my head :)
