Sunday evening prepping for Monday morning

Another weekend wrapped up. I didn't have a good soccer weekend :( Didn't play much on Sat, and we lost (not trying to say there is a correlation here) Then today's match was a blowout, not in our favor.

needless to say I usually come off the weekend on a high b/c of soccer. so this afternoon I went to the gun range. I just started shooting this past year, and enjoying target practice. I seem to max out at a .38 caliber. Tried a .40 again today, but still not comfortable. With the S&W .38 revolver...I was hitting the target 95% of the time (b/w 5&7 yards out).

So, went looking to see what revolvers are available...well I think I found one that I want. A S&W .357 7 shot revolver (model 620 for those who want to look at it). 7 shot! Stainless steel, and light. It also holds a .38 caliber, so this allows me to switch up ammo when I'm at the range. I need to sit down and talk with my dad (a. maybe for Christmas b. about owning a gun and if I'm ready to have my own gun)

OK, off to study!

Sorry about the soccer losses.

I've done a little shooting in my time. I've actually found the Glocks to be pretty good - a good bulk to fit in the hand, but not as heavy as a gun that size normally would be. But if you have smaller hands than I (and most women do), it might be too big for you.

Another fave, though harder to find these days: the H&K VP70 9mm. A very sleek pistol, with a 16-shot clip.

Have you considered getting a rifle? They're easier to obtain and keep. As much as I like the feel of a pistol, I love the action of a rifle, not to mention the way-higher accuracy. I've fired a .22, an M-16, and a Kalashnikov (which had one helluva kick to it - but I was very accurate with it, and it's a low-maintenance weapon).

Right now living in the city is not a good situation for a rifle. That's why I'm kind of looking to stick with a revolver.

I will probably make my way up shooting a rifle in the next year though!
