As of 11:25 pm on Super Tuesday McCain is winning in delegates and Clinton is also winning in delegates.

Huckabee is actually making a run for it.

California is too close to tell right now. The polls are closed, though.

I'm tired and for such a quick up to date era...it's really moving kind of slow to update any delegate news.

I read that the delays in getting good tallies had to do with understaffing at the polls and a greater number of absentee ballots than expected. We still have to process ballots by hand when they're mailed in. Internet voting isn't quite ready for prime time yet, and probably never will be.

Does the Rupublican race really matter? Do any of the have a chance in Hell of beating Obama or Hillary? I figure Bush has screwed the Republicans out of any major victory for at least 6 years. They've agressively supported him despite dwindling popularity. So now the Republicans are split between the hardcore conservatives, and the more centrist. But the rhetoric of the past 8 years has been so brutal, I'm not sure they'll ever come together. Compromise has been branded as a sign of weakness for republicans, and now that they disagree, no one can give any ground and keep their fanatic base.

Speaking of which, my boy Obama is movin' on up there. To steal from Joe Lieberman, he's got Obamentum...

Obamentum made me smile. I hear what you are saying about the Republicans, and it's quite obvious that we are not solidify...shit it's split b/w Huckabee (only good for him is the fair tax), Romney (a Mormon?), and McCain (the badass who republicans scream he's a liberal)...I haven't looked at the polls this morning, but as of last night I think McCain will give either Clinton or Obama a run for their money.

But if McCain wins, Ann Coulter will endorse Hillary! What will Republicans do without their token woman? With Condi holding down token black, is she really able to pull double duty?

Frankly, I think the Republicans are doomed because of the war. All polling shows that the large majority of American people are tired of the war in Iraq. It's a big issue that creates passion. McCain has stated that he will stay in Iraq until we are victorious (however the spin machines are defining that term today). The Democrats are pushing away from the "stay the course", "more of the same" rhetoric. If McCain can't pull the anti-war independants, and can't energize the conservative noise machine(Fox news, Talk Radio, Conservative blogs), that leaves him with some pretty shakey support. Perhaps if he pulled Romney as VP (Huckabee is to extemist to be a VP), but otherwise, the Democrats have both full party support and grassroots movements. McCain only has one. I can't see him lasting a long presidential election. Hell, Obama raised more this January than he raised all of last year.

Well, after West Virginia it looks like it will be McCain and Huckabee. With Huckabee, I think McCain will be able to pull together the Independents as well as the tame the talk show hosts. I cried a little when I listened to Coulter support Clinton...then I threw up.

Huckabee wants to change the constitution to match the Bible and believes the earth is 6000 years old. Do you really think he and McCain can work together? West Virginia was McCain putting a block on Romney. I don't see how he'll owe Huck anything after that, hell, Huck owes him one. But a moderate/evangelical ticket just seems too volatile to me. Huckabee would alienate McCain's supporters but quick.

Yeah, but a McCain/Romney would be even worse. Moderate/and crazy Morman.

hell, why don't we put together McCain/Obama? That'd be a good match...wait I see the counter arguement...Obama/McCain :)

Obama/McCain? Never gonna happen. Obama's the centrist, and so needs a good solid liberal VP (Edwards, Kusinich). McCain/Obama? I'd vote for it, but it would never win. Flip-Flopping is a mortal sin, remember?

And don't discount Romney. He's the one that the party wants, the serious Bush apologist, and that brings some serious money and firepower. It wouldn't suprise me if he gets VP just to calm Fox.
