Have you ever had the feeling you just blew your chances?

I received a phone call about a teaching position, at that moment it was about teaching AP American History. The American History portion, I am super excited about...well b/c i'm a history nerd. Now...the AP part. That scared me a little. I wanted to be honest, so she asked me to take a look at the website and call back. I did, now i'm excited about teaching AP (seems like there are more references and materials available to AP teachers than reg. teachers).

I call back, her secretary is asking me, who are you again? and now i'm waiting for a call back.

Part of me just has the feeling of I lost my chance. Damn it, why do I have to have that streak of honesty and professionalism?
